Army issues request for C2 fire support technology upgrade

The U.S. Army is seeking feedback on its plans to create a coalition organizational and contracting mechanism to support the development of fire support command and control systems and other digital firefighting products designed to improve decision-making and speed up kill chains against close neighbors. – Threats from peers.
The vehicle is expected to support two programs: the Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System and the Integrated Targeting Command and Coordination Suite, according to a request for information issued Wednesday.
The Defense Department is developing the AFATDS Artillery Execution Suite as an open architecture that will use the Tactical Attack Suite software and have three primary subcomponents: technical fire control, fire support coordination, and tactical fire control.
JTIC2S will replace the Joint Automated Deep Combat Coordination System and is designed to provide commanders with digital target development and joint and organic fire support command and control capabilities.
Stakeholders can submit comments and suggestions on mission statements and feedback on the technical approach to the JTIC2S High Level Design Architecture requirements and the AFATDS AXS Digital Platform Reference Architecture.
